Swiss Politicians Urge Chinese President Xi Jinping to Support Trial of Jiang Zemin

M. T. Engelberts, member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Geneva

Motivated by the recent surge in criminal complaints filed against former head of the Chinese Communist regime Jiang Zemin, ten Swiss officials have written a letter to Chinese President Xi Jingping, encouraging him to assist in putting Jiang on trail for crimes committed during the 16-year persecution of Falun Gong. At the time of the letter’s writing, 134,000+ Falun Gong practitioners had charged Jiang with a number of crimes including abuse of power, unlawful detention and torture, in accordance with his having perpetrated one of the most egregious human rights violations in history. The letter emphasizes that as China moves toward the rule of law, the current leadership’s response to the unprecedented number of criminal complaints will be closely watched by people worldwide.

A Quote from the Letter

Given the direction in which China wants to move and the 134,000 complaints filed so far, it is hoped that you can facilitate the arrest of former President Jiang Zemin and those responsible for this disgrace and bring them to justice to stand trial for these crimes.

The world is watching and we are all witnesses. Our duty is to make this appeal because one day history will judge our response to these crimes that cannot go unpunished.
