Resolution against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the associated organ removal in the form of forced organ harvesting

Appeal to the German Bundestag
The members of the German section of the International Society for Human Rights (ISHR) passed the following resolution on April 6, 2014:
Resolution against the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the associated organ removal in the form of forced organ harvesting.
Given the fact that
• in China thousands of Falun Gong practitioners are detained for long periods of time and many of them succumb to death in prison,
• prisoners are used as a supply of spare human body parts, and their organs are sold,
• organ harvesting is also carried out for experimental purposes and as a method of torture,
• organ harvesting is principally forced and fatal in most cases,
• Uighurs, Tibetans, Christians and other prisoners from labor camps could also be victims of forced organ harvesting,
• prisoners are forced to work up to 16 hours per day, are exposed to the arbitrariness of the prison guards, are tortured and raped while detained, and killed prisoners are cremated to destroy evidence,
the ISHR appeals to the members of the German Bundestag to adopt a resolution demanding an immediate end to the persecution and murder of innocents by releasing all persecution victims.
We also request the initiation of legislation that makes it a punishable offense in Germany to illegally remove organs and to benefit from it.
The adoption of the aforementioned resolution, and desired legislation, is supported by a resolution from the European Parliament on organ harvesting in China, passed on December 12, 2013.
