Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
In early February 2016, nonprofit Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH) was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of its decade of effort in raising awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) systematic organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. While practitioners worldwide have relentlessly advocated for an end to the persecution since its onset in 1999, the CCP’s covert human trafficking activities and abuse of its sprawling prison/labor camp system were not exposed until 2006. Every year since 2006, more evidence verifying and expanding upon the CCP’s human rights abuses has continued to pile up. DAFOH has taken a lead in battling these crimes against humanity.
