Background
David Kilgour and David Matas conducted the first major investigation into allegations of state-sanctioned, forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong prisoners of conscience in China, and published a book about the evidence they found. As Canadian Secretary of State for the Asia-Pacific Region and a former Canadian Member of Parliament, Kilgour is familiar with China’s poor human rights conditions. Matas is a longtime international human rights attorney. Both expressed skepticism before beginning their investigation; however, their book, Bloody Harvest, documents 33 types of evidence uncovered during the investigation, leading them to conclude with confidence that the hard-to-believe allegations of organ harvesting are indeed true. Now, Matas and Kilgour tour the world, speaking at various forums about organ harvesting in China. Recently, they discussed their findings and thoughts at TEDx.
