Cloaked China

by Jessica Lecorchick

The loudest noise ever heard was silence
Formed from hateful hearts moving flesh unfree;
Molding narrow ears trained for avoidance.

Boisterous notes of organs caused joyance,
But organs yanked from men is mute to me.
The loudest noise ever heard was silence.

Screams of girls on rides were pleasant stridence,
But nude girls raped in cells goes dim to thee
Molding narrow ears trained for avoidance.

Roars of truth chimed inside the law-licensed,
But the risk of dirtied hands make them flee.
The loudest noise ever heard was silence.

Swaying of floral blooms begot reverence,
But meditation sways are seen as fleas
Molding narrow ears trained for avoidance.

Piercings of quiet stab at our conscience,
But the world agrees on a stagnant spree.
The loudest noise ever heard is silence—
Molding narrow ears trained for avoidance.
